You kill, I kill

by Lauren

It was a cold wet day, in the forest. I knew because I was alone there walking through the damp grass. The strings reached my waist and some almost reached my ribcage. Wind blew strongly against my face and the dead fallen leaves rustled on the ground.

Not a person nor animal to be seen. Until, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a shadow swoop past a nearby wall. I quickly spun around, my eyes darting back and forth suspiciously. I took a deep breath and took a step froward. "Boy, I must be coming down with something" I whispered raising a hand to my forhead. I contiued on my way.

About an hour later, the rain became a small storm. But not big enough to stop me from my walk home. Suddenly, I got a feeling as though I was being watched. Then, again, I noticed the shadow. I began to run, the run led to a sprint. Before I knew it I was out of breath. I looked around. Nothing was there. I began to giggle at myself. I walked on. Now I heard somthing. For real!

I spun around on my heel. To see nobody was there. "SHOW YOURSELF...YOU...YOU CREEP! STOP FOLLOWING ME! DO YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. "WELL DO YOU!" as I shouted this I stepped forward and unfortunatly lost my balance. Tripping over a slippy root of a tree. A dark shape emerged from behind a huge oak tree. I gupled hard and began to breath heavily. I could now make out what it was. Its long claws stuck out from the tips of its fingers. Its head bent to the side. It's eye hanging from its socket. It's face was ripped. I knew what it was. It was the grim reaper. "I know who you are... but why?" I pleaded. I then remembered. When I was six I had stabbed my mothers temple with a fork.

"You kill, I kill" Whispered the deep voice.
