Wolves

by Constance Scott aka Necronikki
(Bloodland, SC)

Fearful Eyes

Fearful Eyes

I began to look around at my environment. But it was getting late and I needed to setup camp. The only thing worse than the dark is being afraid in the dark, and that was exactly how I felt. Unfortunately for me, the sound of the wolves was distinct and near.

I felt a tremor travel down my back. Regardless of how I felt, I set up camp. Every now and then, I’d glance back in a frenzy of paranoia. I don’t even know how I managed to make the tent. I was so haggard about my situation; I didn’t even realize that I’d dropped my matches.

I’ll be honest I don’t know how to make a fire from scratch, so it was imperative that I find them…even if it meant walking into the wolf-infested woods. I was dragging a ton on my way to the woods. As if my situation couldn’t get any worse, I was almost paralyzed by the manifestation of eyes looking back at me.
