Trick or Treat?

It just started to rain as we got in from school.
"Are we still going out tonight Trick or Treating, I need some money to go out this Saturday", I said to Sam my brother.

" Don't know, haven't got an outfit" he replied.
I thought about it and decided I could find something in the wardrobe to get dressed in.

"Sam I can make a costume, please come with me"
Sam agreed and an hour later we were both dressed in our 'scary' costumes.

I looked like a drag queen instead of one of the ghouls from Michael Jacksons Thriller and Sam looked like a giant white sheet with holes cut in it, not the ghost I thought he might look like. Oh well, no-one usually looked at the costumes just gave us money or sweets and tried to get rid of us as quickly as possible.

Right we were set. " See you later" I shouted to mum but got no answer.

I opened the front door, to leave, and turned to speak to Sam but as I did so I was shocked to see Sam turn a pale white and faint. I slowly turned to be confronted by mum. She was holding her head to one side and had a knife sticking out of her neck with blood pumping from the wound.

I let out a massive scream and started to run into the kitchen when I heard from the front door'
"Trick or Treat".

Mum you frightened us silly, Sam has fainted.
Mum gave out a big laugh.

"Thought I might give you a fright you pair of sissies"

Sam came round some minutes later, and we decided not to go out.
