The Tree

by Gotcha!
(New York, City)

It was July 27, 2004. My parents decided that we were moving to New York,City. When we got to our new home, a strange looking tree stood in my back yard. This tree was strange because it twisted and curved in all different directions.

The first night at my house went smoothly except for an 70 mile wind. Then, on the window from across my bedroom, I heard knocking on the window. I figured that it was just the wind. Then I decided to go to bed.

The next morning I went downstairs and told my mom that I was hungry. While my mother was making me some cereal, someone or something knocked on the door. I went and checked out what it was. Nothing was there. I was a little scared now.

Then my mom got done making my cereal, so I sat at the kitchen table that was right next to a window the size of a microwave. I looked out the window for a second and saw something walking toward me. It was a figure that was black but had bloodshot, red eyes.

I finished my cereal and I went up to my room. I got dressed for the day and on my way to school I looked back at my house and it looked like the tree was smiling. The only person left at my house was my dad and I was a little worried. When I got home from school I found my dad laying on the bathroom floor, dead.

I called my mom, but the phone made a screeching sound, but in the background I heard laughing. I looked out the window at the tree and it was gone.
