The Television

by Patrick
(Montreal, Quebec, Canada)

Once was a small family upon Darren Road. A mother and her daughter. The father was killed in the Korean War. The girl was frightened when she heard the terrible news about her father. She stayed in her room for days without eating.

Her mother kept trying to get her out of the room, but she couldn't. So the mother brought her a TV set so she could watch something at least.

That night she felt a chill down her spine as she slipped under the sheets of her bed. She heard a voice that sounded like her dad. She turned around and looked at the TV, and suddenly a flash of an image of her dead father appeared on the TV screen. She was extremely frightened. They threw out the TV set and since then, she has believed to become insane after what she saw.
