The Skull

by Alefia Kothambawala
(Cupertino, California)

One night, a seven-year-old girl was sleeping in her room. Her parents were downstairs watching TV. Suddently, she heard a moaning sound. It was coming from behind her door.

When she was brave enough to look up, she saw a skull floating in front of her door. She wanted to scream but her voice was trapped inside her throat. Then, the skull headed in her direction.

She managed to choke out, "What do you want from me?" In reply the blood red skull said, "Your life". Next, she dodged the skull, ran to the bathroom, and locked the door. The skull floated through the door and said, "You can't escape me".

When her parents came upstairs to brush their teeth, they saw their daughter sitting on the toilet seat with a skull carved with a knife on her head. The skull sat beside her glowing brighter than ever. That day was the last of all three of them. They were never seen again.
