Fantastic story but you need to expand the story. You could have what you wrote as a flashback or story of another character that is going to enter the tunnel.

CREEPY!!!!! by: JudithP
I have personally been to the Screaming Tunnel. I walked thru it on an extremely warm day, and found the temperature inside the tunnel quite cool, enough that it made you wish you had a sweater or light jacket to put on. I wandered around on the other end of the tunnel and discovered that the area was thickly populated with garter snakes, (how's that to add to an already creepy area?). I also discovered what appeared to be the stone/cement foundation of a building. I also saw a rectangular piece of cement or rock with a person's name carved on it. It was quite worn, and was too difficult to read. I do know one thing, I wouldn't be caught dead down that way on a stormy night, looking for shelter from the elements in that tunnel! No way, Jose.
