The ladybug and the butterfly

by Samantha and Daddy
(Somewhere near Memphis, TN....USA)

Once upon a time there was a beautiful butterfly whose best friend just happened to be a cute little ladybug. They went everywhere together. The ladybug would ride on the butterfly's big rainbow colored wings and they would glide up and down, over and around, all the way to town. They had a lot of fun together, because they were best friends, and that's what best friends do.

One day ladybug was sitting under a coconut tree reading a book and eating a grape. She wasn't really paying attention. Butterfly was up in the tree, enjoying the breeze. Butterfly looked down and saw a great big mean snake sneaking up on her friend ladybug. She yelled "LOOK OUT", but the ladybug could not hear her because of the wind. Butterfly thought really fast, "what can I do, what can do? I must save you! Oh, what can I do?.

Then Butterfly looked up and saw a coconut just barely hanging there and she smiled. She fluttered up above the coconut and waited for the snake. Sure enough, the mean old snake slithered right where Butterfly wanted him to be. Just as sneaky snake opened his mouth to bite poor Ladybug, Butterfly jumped on the coconut and knocked it loose! It fell down and conked old sneaky snake right on the head. Ladybug saw what was happening and said, "Thank you butterfly, you saved me" she said, "you saw a snake and conked his head, before he could bite me, you gave him a fright, a coconut to his head, and now I'm alright!"

They were best friends forever. Sneaky snake had a headache forever....hahaha
