The Apple Tree

by Jessica
(Sylmar)

Once there was a family who had moved to a new house. They had a little girl named Emily who was just five years old. She really, really loved apples and she really, really loved swings. Well their new house had a huge apple tree right outside their frontyard with a swing. Emily loved the new house and had been the only child she would be spending all day in the tree.

One day after finishing unpacking her stuff, Emily went to play on the apple tree. When she got really close to it she noticed that there was writing on it. There was two names on it. One said Bryan needs help and the other one said it's Jane... help me.

Another thing she noticed about the tree was that the tree had so many red, delicious looking apples. In fact it looked as though no one had picked any for ages.

Emily was too excited to pay attention to that so she just started swinging on the swing back and forth. After a while she got hungry and decided she would pick some apples to take home. For a five year old she was pretty short so she tried climbing the tree.

The tree's bark was really hard and after a while her legs started hurting and when she looked at them she noticed that they were bleeding. She realized that she couldn't take it anymore so she tried climbing down but she slipped and fell and her head hit the swing. Now her legs, hands, arms, and head were bleeding a lot. She felt so sick and she couldn't scream for help because she didn't have the strength to talk. She could see her mom through the kitchen window but her mom couldn't see her. The only thing she thought of doing was writing how she felt so on the tree bark with her little girl nails she wrote Emily needs help...
