October 31

Swimming

Swimming

It was October 31, 1774 I was making dinner with my mother. My little sister was washing the clothes in the river and my dad and older brother were getting ready to hunt. I looked out the window and saw my sister walk out into the river like she was hypnotized. I ran outside to stop her with my mother following anxiously behind me wondering where I was going. It was too late my sister was gone.

Everyone thinks I'm crazy until she doesn't come home. Some people thought that there was an ancient monster that swallows people and dives back into the water. They believed the monster ate my sister. People came to our house giving us flowers, food, and gifts. Everyone was sad especially me, because she was my best friend and sister. She was my only friend.

I knew it wasn't right but I couldn't live without her. So tomorrow I plan to jump in the lake.
