A face peering through the darkness

There was once this rich boy with his rich dad and their dog spot in a big house. His dad always had to go away on business trips for days on end.

"The months are nearing October. It was beginning to get cold and cloudy outside, perfect to be scared but don't worry, if you ever wake up scared at night, have the dog there, even if it's dark, reach your hand down and he will lick it and you know he is there and you're safe" told the boys dad.

Don't worry every thing will be fine while I am gone.

The boy watched out the window as the dad drove off. He spent all day watching TV and dosed off on the couch. He woke up around 12 am to the sound of dripping..Drip...drip...drip.. He jumped out and yelled WHO'S THERE? There was no reply.

He went to the bathroom and checked the faucet and the shower to see if any thing was running, they were all off. He decided it was nothing and lay back on the couch, he reached his hand down and the dog licked him and he went back to sleep.

Thirty minutes later he awoke to the sound of the drips again..Drip.....drip....drip... he FLUNG UP onto his feet and yelped. EEEKK! What is that!
He walked to his dad's bathroom and checked the faucets and the shower and every thing was off in there also.

He told himself that it was probably just raining out side and we have a leaky gutter.. yeah that's it... a leaky gutter. So he ran back to the couch and laid down, reached his hand down and got licked and fell asleep once again.

He was awoken ten minutes later.. this time he sat up and said "that sounds like its inside the house". He stood up, it was pitch black and he could not find the light switch, he fumbled his way to the last bathroom in the house, it was the guest bathroom.

He opened the door and flicked on the switch.
the faucet was off but when he yanked back the curtains to the shower... he saw his dog hung on the rack.

And in blood written on the wall it said

"PEOPLE CAN LICK TOO!"
